FAQs

Do you offer commissioned work?

I certainly do. If you have a project in mind, get in touch. I can work within your budget and timeframe, no matter where you are in the world.

What is your process?

I work primarily from high-res reference images. The images are arranged into varied compositions in Affinity Photo 2 and a rough sketch is then drawn to explore ideas. From there the composition is finalised and the artwork is painted/drawn. As the work is digital, changes can be made relatively easily and individual elements are able to be rearranged for various use case scenarios. Final work is supplied in whatever format is required.

What do you use to draw?

All the pieces you see here were done by hand, primarily in Affinity Photo 2. I do still work with traditional media but I love the way I can replicate a traditional look digitally. It’s the perfect way to supply work that will be used for print, online, on screen etc. I don’t use any fancy digital tricks or filters. Everything is hand-drawn with a stylus within the programme using brushes that replicate pencils and paint. I use an XP Pen Artist 24 QHD as my primary drawing display. When out and about I use my iPad with Affinity Photo 2 and Procreate.

Where else can I see your work?

My work can be found at the Alternative Movie Posters online gallery.

Artist proof print orders

How long does it take to process my print order?

All orders are printed on demand (I don’t keep stock of each print). This usually takes 2 days. So if you order on Monday it will be shipped by Wednesday. Printing is done within your country and shipped to you direct.

Why is there no shopping cart?

This site doesn’t yet have a shopping cart. If you wish to purchase two or more different artworks send me an email and I will send you a personalised payment link. Easy. This is so you won’t get charged more than one postage fee. All payments are securely processed through Stripe payment links.

How are the prints and posters mailed?

In a sturdy, heavy duty cardboard mailer tube.

See shipping page for more info.

Will my print lay flat or will it be curled?

The prints are rolled and so will be a bit curly when you first unpack it. Just lay it down on a flat surface and place a book or two on it. It will soon flatten out.

What happens if my print arrives damaged?

Get in touch with me and shoot me a photo. I’ll send you another free of charge. Too easy.

How long have you been drawing?

I first picked up a crayon in the 1970’s. Shagpile carpet and Mum’s long hair made it hard work pushing Matchbox cars around so paper and crayon became my favourite pastime.

Have you always sold your work?

From time to time. Usually only when commissioned to do a piece. But now I'm looking to make illustrating a full-time gig.

What paper is the artwork printed on?

200gsm premium matte art stock. This is a great weight stock that gives body to the artwork and is of archival quality. These are premium quality art pieces that are created to last, not flimsy posters.

Do you sell framed prints?

No. Framing is a highly personal thing. All the artworks are standard sizes so you can buy a frame off the shelf (from a department store) or have a professional framer hook you up with something tailored to your wall or space which compliments the poster/print you purchased.
